About Institution
The founder father of Agro co-operative
movement, Late Padmashri Dr. Vittalrao Vikhe Patil
established first Co-operative sugar factory of
Asia. He firmly believed in socio-economic
transformation of Rural India through appropriate
education. With this idea, he established Pravara
Rural Education Society in 1964. Karmayogi son of
Karmayogi father, Hon'ble Shri. Balasaheb Vikhe
Patil, former Minister, Govt. of India, took upon
himself the task of translating the dreams of
Padmashri into concrete realities by providing
dynamic and pragmatic leadership to the society.
True to the tradition of illustrious family, Hon'ble
Amdar Shri. Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, former
Minister Govt. of Maharashtra is providing
foresighted leadership to make Pravara Rural
Engineering College comparable to the International
standard.
Today Pravara Rural Education Society has
more than 92 Institution with more than 50,000
students pursuing
education from kindergarten to highest level of
education under one umbrella. Pravara Rural
Engineering College was established on 21st August
1983 which symbolized the beginning of a new era in
technical education in rural India.
The college is currently running 8
undergraduate course and 4 postgraduate courses in
different discipline of engineering. The Institute
is awarded “A” Grade by DTE Mumbai &
Accredited By Institute of Engineers (Kolkatta). The
College has successfully organized STTP/Workshops/
Conferences at National/State level for the benefit
of the students and faculty. College has received
grants from different organization for the Research
and Development activities, which are currently
being carried out in various department of college.
